DICTRA
Pioneering software for diffusion simulations

DICTRA version 24 is a software for accurate simulations of diffusion in multicomponent alloy systems. Many different processes can be simulated, for example:

• Homogenization of alloys.
• Carburising and decarburising of steels.
• Microsegregation during solidification.
• Carbide dissolution during austenitization of steels.
• Coarsening of precipitates.

Simulated C-concentration profile in a weld between two steels with initially similar C but different Si contents.

DICTRA is coupled with Thermo-Calc for necessary thermodynamic calculations.

The simulations with DICTRA require databases for:

• Thermodynamic (used in Thermo-Calc)
• Kinetic data (used in DICTRA).

There are databases available for many materials and applications.

Thermo-Calc Software offer training courses where you learn to use the DICTRA software in a few days. The DICTRA training course is held in combination with the Thermo-Calc Training courses.

When purchasing DICTRA, it is recommended that you to sign a maintenarence & support agreement. This will give you access to updates of the software and technical support.
