DICTRA is a sophisticated software for accurate simulations of diffusion in multicomponent alloy systems. Many different processes can be simulated, for example:
- Homogenization of alloys
- Carburizing and decarburizing of steels
- Microsegregation during solidification
- Carbide dissolution during austenitization of steels
- Coarsening of precipitates
DICTRA requires Thermo-Calc for necessary thermodynamic calculations and is available as an add-on to a Thermo-Calc license. The DICTRA software has been applied to numerous problems of practical and scientific interest. The simulations with DICTRA require databases both for: There are databases available for different materials and applications such as steel, nickel superalloys or aluminium. DICTRA is available for Windows and Linux OS, please see the System Requirements for details. When purchasing DICTRA, a 12-month period of free maintenanence & support subscription is included. After the free period, it is recommended that you continue the subscription as this will give you access to automatic updates of the software and technical support. Thermo-Calc Software offer training courses where you learn to use the DICTRA software in a few days. The DICTRA training course is held in combination with the Thermo-Calc training courses.
