Training courses
Thermo-Calc and DICTRA training courses are held regularly twice every year in Sweden.
We also hold training courses once every year in the USA, China, Japan and Germany.
Training courses in France, Italy, Spain and India is held every second year or when needed.
We can also hold tailor made courses on your site that are adapted for your specific needs.
The courses include hands-on exercises at the computers complemented with short lectures.
Our courses are the fastest way to learn how to use the software.
Dates and locations of upcoming courses are shown below.

Course descriptions
Thermo-Calc Basic course
In the Thermo-Calc basic course, you learn how to calculate phase equilibria, property diagrams
and phase diagrams of alloys using Thermo-Calc. Different types of phase diagrams such
as isothermal and isoplethal sections are calculated and your own functions are used.
The systems treated are normally adapted to suit the participiants interest.
Thermo-Calc Advanced course
The advanced course require pre-knowledge equal to the Thermo-Calc Basic course and covers calculations
including user-defined functions, liquidus surfaces. Calculations involving other types of systems such
as oxides or gases are also performed. Thermodynamic databases and the use of programming interfaces
are discussed. This course is a continuation of Thermo-Calc Basic.
DICTRA course
A course for new and experienced DICTRA users, which teaches you how to
perform different kinds of diffusion simulations using DICTRA. Multicomponent
diffusion theory and the creation of mobility databases are also discussed
in the course. Some prior knowledge of Thermo-Calc is an advantage but not
a requirement.
TC-PRISMA course
A new course for our new software package TC-PRISMA, which simulates kinetics of diffusion-controlled
multi-particle precipitation process in multi-component and multi-phase alloy systems. The course covers
theory of concurrent nucleation, growth, and coarsening of dispersed phases, numerical methods, the
GUI and functionality, case studies, and much more. Some prior knowledge of computation thermodynamics
and kinetics is an advantage but not a requirement.
